After years of misdiagnosis and failed treatments, a professor from Michigan finds hope through pioneering surgery in India

At a medical conference, Dr. Andrea met Dr. Mandeep Singh Malhotra, a renowned surgeon, and discussions began about Bonnie’s case. After careful consideration, Bonnie, accompanied by Dr. Andrea, traveled to India for a life-saving procedure at CK Birla Hospital in Delhi. Dr. Mandeep and his team performed a complex surgery, removing the entire fungating mass from her chest wall. The excised tumor weighed over 2 kg and created a large defect of approximately 20 x 15 cm on her chest wall. Additionally, an axillary lymph nodal mass was also removed.

Bonnie is now recovering well from the surgery, with her chest wall healing successfully and the ADM being fully accepted by her body. At this stage, she is cancer-free, with no signs of the dreaded fungating mass.
